Mediums: 8ft long 1.75in diameter wood rod 10 gauge steel sheet
Overview: These spears were made for a short film that had a battle scene for which I served as Set Director and Propmaster. I prototyped the shape and scale from a hard card stock that transferred into a pattern for a CNC plasma cutter I used to rapidly cut the heads out of 10 gauge steel sheet. I shaped the cut parts using a technique called flow forming with a custom pneumatic ball peen attachment and form. The heads are then screwed to a 7ft long wooden dowel.
