Mediums: High carbon steel, brass rod, ipe or plyboo wood handles
Overview: These knives came out of my interest in the process for making a functional and beautiful knife using discarded materials like high carbon lawn mower blades and old metal files. I began by heat soaking the metal and cutting the basic shape on a bandsaw. The blade profiles and edges are shaped using a belt sander. Wood handles are shaped using files or a belt sander and then attached with rivets.
