I also highly encourage you to watch the video we produced from the shoot here. There is no nudity – just fantastic visual effects:
Mediums: Real animal and anatomy specimens, broken mirrors, fishing line, clear glass table, saw horses, masking and duct tape
Overview: Daniel Radcliffe did an interview called “20Q: Daniel Radcliffe” for Playboy magazine in promotion of his film Victor Frankenstein. I collaborated with Matt Englebert in the role as Prop Master and Set Designer for the video and photo shoot, working under the direction of the brilliant photographer Gavin Bond, together with stylist Mark Holmes.
First, we created the core scenery using broken mirrors and fishing line; we actually had to blow up the mirrors for the video shoot (check out the video below-it’s spectacular). Then, we created a table from clear glass and saw horses for the photographer to get the shots underneath the specimen jars and skulls looking up at Daniel. One of the most surreal moments of the shoot – amongst many – was when I had to suspend a real human skull from 16th century France using vanishing line and tape. This moment caused me take pause as I realised I was holding a skull that belonged to an actual person and running line through his nasal cavities for a Playboy shoot!
